Goals
- Detector and system checkout, understanding detector behavior, calibration of MIP and threshold
Test Condition
- The detector stand was located at 82 deg beam-left.
- Compared with the later 7-deg and 18-deg setup:
- the FASPD was in the test setup, and there were only two GEM chambers.
- Triggers were much simpler due to lack of summing modules and remotely controlled discriminator thresholds.
Run Information
- Detector calibration:
- Most scintillators and Preshower show MIP and some double-MIP structure
- At this large (82 deg) angle, pions would not leave MIP in the Shower
- For Shower modules, only electrons deposit large amount of energy and we managed to compare data with simulation and use the histogram slope at high energy side for calibration purposes
- Some mixed up of Shower HV for part of the run period that caused the 3 shower blocks to be grossly mismatched.
